Ms. Nagel is a long-time resident of Central Florida, with roots in Lake County going back to 1915. Ms. Nagel was born in Clearwater , Florida , and moved to Clermont at the age of 1. Ms. Nagel graduated from the Florida State University in 1991 with a B.A. in Psychology.
In 1996 Ms. Nagel graduated from the Nova Southeastern University , Shepard Broad Law Center with a Juris Doctor degree, magna cum laude. Ms. Nagel was in the top 7% of her law school class.
While in law school Ms. Nagel was a member of the award-winning Trial Advocacy team, a Goodwin Fellow, and Associate Editor of the Nova Law Review. Ms. Nagel also served as a Law Clerk Intern for Judge Barry Seltzer, United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and as a Special United States Attorney, Department of Justice, Eastern District of Virginia.
After law school Ms. Nagel worked for two years as a law clerk for Justice Barbara J. Pariente at the Florida Supreme Court, then went to work for Holland & Knight, LLP in the firm's Tallahassee office. Shortly thereafter Ms. Nagel transferred to Holland & Knight's Chicago office, where she worked before returning to Florida to form Merideth Nagel, P.A.
Ms. Nagel is a member of the Florida Bar, the Illinois Bar, the United States Bar for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Florida, the Orange County Bar Association, the Lake County Bar Association, the Florida Association for Women Lawyers, and the American Bar Association. Ms. Nagel is also authorized to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. In the community Ms. Nagel is proud to be a member of the Boards of Directors for the Clermont Chamber of Commerce and the Central Florida YMCA. Ms. Nagel is also an active member of the South Lake Presbyterian Church in Clermont, and serves as a mentor to 9th through 12th grade girls.
